Shoe, dazzle, I do

My shoespiration was nothing less sparkly than the original Cinderella Shoe by Jimmy Choo. Since this Cinderella is on a budget, we found the next best thing-which turned into the perfect pair for me. After searching online far and wide from eBay to Revolve, Amazon to every shoe store possible, as the wedding approached, these shoes danced into my newsfeed (thanks, targeted ads!). Discovering the sparkly heel, elegant style, dash of purple – my fave color – and that they were available in my size, were true signs they were meant to be. Keep reading to see the shoes waiting to accompany us down the aisle.

Boho Fashion Inspiration

For some style inspiration, I’m happy to share with you this shoot from the lovely @bridalandbraids & @amylimaphotos 🤗

This look is boho inspired with a denim influence, infused with elements of pale pink. It started with the pink top and adding other layers to that. The “messy” bun enhances the style and complements the feel of “effortlessly boho chic”, thanks to Ryann’s uber talented hair styling and vision. (Spoiler alert: “messy buns” are not so easy!)

This look of a more structured jean on jeans + sheer flowy pink dress + pink chunky boots is a fun way to show how to incorporate different kinds of material into one look, mixing structure with a feminine feel. Hopefully this gives you some style inspiration. What other pieces do you like mixing together?

With the dream team!

why we do what we do

have you ever thought about what motivates your soul? why do we get up in the morning? what keeps us up at night?

sleep is something i can never seem to snag enough of. but such is so much about life. time with friends, time to dream, (sleeping or awake), time to explore the unknown. God gives us so many moments and we can decide how to use them. *scrolls facebook sheepishly* so many tutorials, so little time! lolz! <tangent-my recent fave was Lucie Fink’s interview with Anna Akana, if you are in need of some creative vlogging inspo>

here is one thing I am working on currently. how to continue stepping into moments while trusting God at the same time. here is what i mean by that. i used to separate good/bad events from sharing my feelings with God. well, it was easier during the ‘good’ feelings to stay connected. such as positivity, happiness, thankfulness, joy, delight. but i would create so much distance between me and God when  I felt negative or ‘wrong’ feelings, such as disconnect, melancholy, anger, stuck, depression. and then some feelings i get stuck altogether in limbo, anxiety, frustration, it’s something i even do with people, I have learned. the question i have been asking myself is, am i willing to feel what I’m feeling w h i l e staying connected to the holy spirit at the same time, and at the same time, God. what happens when i connect instead of distance those two?  and dipping my boot into that is delightful and splashy like an ocean’s first kiss. salty, refreshing, restoring and real. it makes you wonder why you would stay dry on the sand in the first place.

i also worry no one will understand me. we are created to know and be known. of course Satan would want to create that divide and fake fear. when I express that, God has given me lots of confirmation through people that i am understandable. or people ask great clarifying questions and are patience to talk through something with me. the willingness to learn is as important as automatically being understood, different hues delight the soul.

has this every happened to you? i’d love to hear about it. until next time, thanks for stopping by, fashionistas!

xoxo FS

Fashion Fairy

Hello, fashionistas!

Recently I had the opportunity to be adorned in flower crowns and painted with princess tribal paint. If only this could be how every day started! Was this a glimpse into the life of how the Kardashians everyday routine, with a boho dash? I could definitely get used to this.

The basis of everything

When I stepped into the fashion world, I subscribed to thinking beauty was an idea that I had to look a certain way, weigh a certain number, and acceptance was woven into that thinking. Being loved was accepted on the outside, preferably with a boyfriend in tow. Continue reading

Fashion Distractions

It’s hard not to be distra-er excuse me. My phone buzzed.

As I was saying, so many selfies, so little time! Ahem. Where were we?

Something about staying focused-so much for wearing Warby Parker’s today! (kidding!) Back to business. Whether it is our expectations for ourselves and others, technological advances or a combination of completely unrelated reasons, the equation for distractions feels endless. Continue reading

5 Glam Ideas for NYE in 5 Minutes

Need a last minute look for the midnight ball? Look no further than your own closet. Here are 5 ideas to blend your current go-to’s and barely-worns into a unique ensemble for NYE 2018!

Pair shades of gray: Or as we like to say, charcoal. Grab a solid minidress, add shimmery tights and a dangly necklace. Dress up a solid color with several dashes of glow! Try black combat boots and or a leather jacket to take your edge up a level.

Velvet: Been dying to bring out that velvet ensemble from the back of your closet? Now you can! What better time to wear a wintery look than on New Year’s Eve.  Recommended: Jewel toned velvet paired with lighter jewelry to give you that pop.

Cute and Cuddly: Feeling more cozy-chic this year? Perfection. Throw on your fave go to jeans (the ones that make you do this) with a cashmere sweater. Preferably one with an open back, elbows, or cold shoulder. Add your fave ankle or high rise booties and you’re out the door (or ready by the fire!).

Strapless Mini + Oversize Jacket: Mix and match feminine and sexy with masculine and linear-a perfect yin and yang to kick off the new year. I love this combination because it connects with versatile moods and allows for diversity moment by moment throughout your night. Plus we know you have a cute mini feeling v neglected in your closet….

Black and Sexy: You can’t go wrong with an all black ensemble, especially with your dynamic spirit we know you have ready to celebrate 2018.  Add extra pizzazz to your hair or rock that bold red lip color as accessories. Wear a lower neckline or pair with lighter necklaces/jewelry to bring color near your face. Wondering what colors work best with your skin tone? Go here for ideas.

What NOT to wear: Anything that doesn’t make you feel like your best self. Obvi, but true. Rock your NYE outfit, fashionistas! Tag me at @fashionstoppe – I can’t wait to see it!

Fashion Faves

Hello, fashionistas! :]

Cheers to a new and fabulous year ahead. I hope you are feeling inspired and rejuvenated for an enlightening 2016. If not, I do hope you find some restoration soon – you deserve it!

To start off the year, I want to share with you some of my fave go to looks-some for winter, going out, and pieces that speak to my heart! I believe what and how you wear something affects who you are, how you feel, and where you are going, whether it’s a conversation with a friend or your personal journey.  Sometimes it’s whimsical, others reflective, perhaps mournful, silly, experimental, loud, distracted or successful. Are these things you think about when you get dressed? Why do you wear what you wear? :]

I’ve been incorporating color into the looks-something that has taken me several years to transition! Black has been my go to for a long time. While I will always love a chic, timeless, or edgy black ensemble, I’m so glad I invited some color back in.  🙂

One thing I will add for us to dwell on as we enter 2016…you are Loved* no matter what! Also, you have a unique and beautiful purpose** now, before, and ahead. Something I wonder about personally day to day, (i.e. what is my purpose in life?!) but we can meditate on these versus as we adventure through life. If not, please enjoy, I hope you are inspired by the fashion. I would love to hear what inspires you!

*”For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8

**”For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
